Experience Paradigm v0.1 — define what verified-truth commerce feels like as a consumer experience

A founding designer's first attempt at the question "what does verified-truth commerce feel like for a consumer?" Output is a working v0.1 of the Product.ai experience — chat + verdict surface — that a non-technical shopper can use end-to-end on one product category. Not a deck. Not a Figma file. A shipped surface a stranger can open and shop with.

Why we want this done

Paradigm definition is the work AI cannot replicate. Generation collapsed the cost of mockups, drafts, variants. Verification — taste calibration, behavioral instrumentation, paradigm framing — did not collapse. The senior practitioner's job is to define what a category should feel like before AI tools can be pointed at it. Product.ai has a thesis (verified truth, not consensus) and a kernel (productai A-1 Beige Singularity, A-2 Three Knowledge Domains) but does not yet have a v0.1 experience that demonstrates the thesis as a feel. Until one exists, every downstream surface decision floats.

Scope

Pick one product category (skincare is in flight via GTM Beat 1 — that's a candidate; another category is acceptable if argued). Then ship:

  1. The chat experience for that category — a shopper can ask a real question, get a real verdict, see the evidence
  2. The verdict surface — what does the answer look like when it lands, on web and on mobile
  3. The handoff to action — what does the shopper do next, and how does the surface carry trust into that action
  4. A short rationale doc — one page, why this paradigm, what was rejected, what tradeoffs were made

The candidate decides scope inside this — three surfaces or one deeper one is a strategic call we want to see them make.

What success looks like

  • A non-technical shopper can complete a full research-to-decision arc on the chosen category in under five minutes
  • The experience is recognizably *not* "ChatGPT with a shopping skin" — verified-truth physics is visible in the surface
  • Internal team consensus that this is what we want to scale, not "interesting prototype"
  • One shipped surface in production (or staged with a real review) — not a Figma frame
  • The rationale doc reads like Karri Saarinen, not like AI marketing

Constraints

  • Claude Code or Co-work as primary substrate
  • Real category, real data — no Lorem ipsum, no fake products, no "imagine a SKU"
  • Design system tokens required for any production-shippable element
  • Must touch real Product.ai code, not exclusively Figma
  • 3-week duration is the cap; if the candidate wants 2 weeks instead, that's a strategic call worth weighing
